My most significant educational success was the attaining of a dual N.J. State certification as a Teacher of English and Teacher of Students with Disabilities, which in 2008 I had earned -- with a 3.9 GPA -- through Georgian Court University's Graduate School of Education. I also possess a BA in Communications, which in 1998 I had obtained from Richard Stockton University with a 3.7 GPA. Furthermore, I also have an Associates of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Ocean County College.
Experience
I have been working since 2009 as a full-time public-school English Language Arts teacher, including the past three years at the very institution from where I was graduated, Lakewood High School. Additionally, I have taught in a wide range of a settings -- urban, suburban, and rural -- in which I have successfully heightened the skills of students ranging from college-bound advanced placement students to those who suffered from a variety of academic and behavioral challenges. I wish to take this experience and use it to the benefit of those who seek my services as a tutor. Enhancing my ability as an educator/tutor is a 20-year background as a professional writer, during which time I wrote and published literally thousands of a news articles and numerous poems and creative nonfiction pieces. I believe it is that combination of experiences as an educator and as a private industry communications pro that gives me an advantage over other tutors.

As I love to speak and to motivate people, in recent years I became -- first as a hobby and then as a side career -- a professional fight announcer. I have been blessed with the opportunity to announce, often on live television, mixed martial arts and boxing contests. Though this likely is no surprise, I also love to read, both silently and aloud; indeed, I have been reading aloud to my daughters since they were in utero, and they enthusiastically look forward to having me read to them nightly, even at the ages of 13 and 16, respectively.
